First Tenant Business Support Programme in Harare was a success!

Based on our successful Siyayijika Programme, a seed capital programme designed to attract the best entrepreneurs in Khayelitsha, VPUU introduced an innovative programme to support the tenants of the facilities VPUU manages on behalf of the City of Cape Town. These facilities are in Harare, Monwabisi Park, and Lotus Park.

The Tenant Business Support Programme was piloted in Harare during the month of March 2022.

The seven existing business selected participated in a 4-week programme which includes:

  • Basic Business Skills;
  • Improving Business Elements;
  • Business Model Canvassing;
  • One on One Mentorship Sessions.

The process is intensive, and included one-on-one coaching sessions, short class exercises and assignments. The course is designed to be adaptive and assist participants with real-world issues.

The slideshow below describes the key elements of the programme and how it works.

The participants selected were:

  • Anelisa Salukazana from Namhlanje Coffee Shop;
  • Ntombekhaya Ndevu from Ntosh’s African Essence;
