Partnerships

Key to the success of the VPUU process are strategic partnerships. These include:

  • Local community – as part of the methodology, a representative leadership group is formed and capacitated to act as an inclusive leadership group for the residents of the project area and community partners
  • The municipality and provincial government – mandated by the constitution to develop, maintain and provide on-going services
  • Local NGOs, civil and private sectors – to provide innovative, sustainable intervention support
  • VPUU as intermediary – playing roles in effective coordination and alignment structures within the partnerships, driving planning, implementation and operations for the local municipality, Managing and mediating conflict, providing innovative thinking and managing funds intended for the programme.
