Encouraged by President Ramaphosa, HOPE Cape Town believes it is our collective responsibility to accelerate economic growth and create jobs by improving education systems and developing skills. It is also our duty to improve conditions and services for the poor. Communities will need the resources and capabilities to become their own engines of development, and government and civil society must support this.

Established in 2001, HOPE Cape Town is a non-profit organization with a community outreach base in Delft that aims to raise the quality of life of people and communities. Emphasis is placed on children, adolescents and their families in situations of poverty, HIV/AIDS and related illnesses.
HOPE Cape Town has operated a community outreach centre in Blikkiesdorp, Delft for more than ten years and has the reputation of being community-centric in the delivery of services and programs.
Due to ACSA’s airport expansion, HOPE Cape Town needs to be relocated. HOPE saw this as an opportunity to expand the program into a new and larger location within Delft, while still serving the community it belongs to.

In Partnership with the Southern African-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with the support of the City of Cape Town (CoCT) and Western Cape Government (WCG); funding from the Bavarian and others, and implementation by Violence Prevention through Urban Upgrading (VPUU NPC), the HOPE-NEX Project was created.
The project proposes an integrated program focused on the development of long-term collaborations with business, higher education institutions, civil society and government partners with the objective to enhance the impact and sustainability of its activities. A multipurpose facility is to be built as a tool for socio-spatial transformation within the Delft context.
Located at the cross of Delft Main Road with Vuurlelie Cres, opposite the Caltex petrol station, is the land acquired by HOPE from the WCG. On this site, the HOPE NEX project will build a campus with the following community-targeted activities:
The development will subdivide portion of the ERF 3494, which currently belongs to the WCG equivalent of 10% of that land. Phase 1, predicted to be completed by the end of 2021, will see the construction of the Bavaria House, the Wellness Centre and the Administration Block. The ECD, the Entrepreneurial Hub and the Youth Centre will be completed once funding is secured.
